Romanticism and Reason – Australian Jewellery 1955-1997

This exhibition traced the evolution of Australian contemporary jewellery practice through the work of 17 eminent makers selected from the Art Gallery of Western Australia Collection. Romanticism was explored in the work of makers who identified with the ideal of the independent artisan, connected to the process of making through skill and intimate knowledge of materials.
