IMPACT AND FUSION

Western Australian artist Bello Benischauer exhibited regularly since the late 90s across Australia, Europe and the United States. His projects explored the relationship between humanity, technology and the natural environment through a synthesis of various art practices. In IMPACT & FUSION, Benischauer presented three sets of relief wall-objects and related audio-visual installations, questioning the social impact of human beings on nature through mass consumption and the globally increasing population. The wall-objects, based in part on stills from his digital installations. They were about the human being, the urban landscape and sustainability. The installation invited the viewer to experience contrasts and similarities between still and moving images. There were selective and concise studies which evolved into layers over layers and images over images. What resuled was a kind of digital collage simulating the mass information we consume through the media, education, and personal, daily experiences.
