Fragile Objects

Artist Elsje van Keppel strived to develop and extend the interaction between texture, cloth, print/dye marks, colour, stitch and geometrical surfaces, evidenced in this major exhibition of works which included large scale textiles. Works of a truly sculptural nature and others that appeared to converge for a moment; those which have spent many years in gestation and surfaces of ambiguity or tangible substance – all provoked a strong emotional response in the viewer.
