Boat Paintings

This collection of small scale boat paintings by Theo Koning, a major Western Australian contemporary artist, were all painted at the Fremantle docks during 1989 and 1990. The works captured the changing mood of the waterside, focusing primarily on the moored boats, tug boats and the docks. Some were extremely vibrant, while others were quite sombre, showing only minor colour variations as they were painted in the evening light.
