We are delighted to share our recently published 2024 Annual Report.
ART ON THE MOVE’s 2024 Annual Report marks a year of far-reaching touring, strategic sector development, and a deepened commitment to equitable arts access across Western Australia. In 2024, we toured six exhibitions to 19 locations, reaching over 39,000 people and travelling more than 35,000 kilometres. These not only celebrated WA artists and stories but embedded inclusive, community-led practices into each exhibition experience.
Our creative learning and engagement initiatives continued, with 27 activities delivered across regional WA, Perth and interstate. These programs, ranging from artist-led workshops and panel discussions to co-designed skills-building, engaged 543 participants and employed 18 artists. With a strong Net Promoter Score of 81, participants told us loud and clear that these programs are resonating.
Crucially, 2024 also saw the release of Get It Out There!, our five-year Regional Exhibition Touring Strategy, developed in consultation with over 100 arts professionals across 72 organisations. The Strategy has already informed key changes, including funding advocacy, professional development pilots, new artist residencies, and regional infrastructure support.
On behalf of all the regional galleries and artists across Western Australia, ART ON THE MOVE thanks the State Government for their commitment to the increased Arts Organisation Investment Program and the Regional Exhibition Touring Boost funding. With this secure multi-year funding and a growing national footprint through NETS Australia, we are excited to continue working collaboratively to shape a stronger, more connected future for visual arts in the regions and beyond.
